What exactly am I getting?
One illustrated hardcover accordion-fold history chart. The printed chart combines Biblical chronology, historical timelines, maps and illustrations. Other books, display fixtures and props are not included.
About the chart's historical perspective
This is a historical chart with a Biblical chronology. Its dates, language and interpretation reflect the period in which it was created. Use it to explore that perspective alongside other historical sources.
Pull open a few panels to compare neighbouring empires side by side, or spread the whole timeline across the table. When you're finished, it folds right back into its cloth hardcover.

Four Things
Why this chart
4 things this chart does that nothing else on your shelf can
In 1871 a minister drew every nation as a colored stream and every life as a bar the length of its years. ~ 6,000 years, starting from 4004 B.C. to 2,000.
23 feet long. Starting from Adam and Eve.

01
You see who lived when, for the whole of Scripture and the whole of the world
Every life drawn as long as it lasted. Egypt, Israel, Assyria, China. Biblical figures. Confucius, the Buddha, and the fall of Jerusalem within a lifetime of each other. For the first time in history, you're going to be able to see how the people in the Old Testament overlapped each other.

It folds into a book, 23 feet that lives on a shelf
Twenty-one panels, hardback. Open one panel on the table, or all of it down a hallway.

03
It's the 1871 chart, not a modern redraw
The third edition sharpens the reproduction, but the streams, the lifespan bars, and the Victorian lettering are Adams' own. What you hold is what an educated American saw in 1871.

Made to be used, and it lasts for generations

FAQ
Good to know
What to know before you order.
Format, content and shipping details.
Is it a book or a fold-out chart?
Both. It's one continuous chart, accordion-folded between hard covers. Open a single panel at the table, or stretch the full 23 feet across a room, then fold it back into book form when you're done.
Does it cover Biblical history?
Yes. The chart follows Biblical chronology from 4004 B.C. and sets it side by side with the histories of Egypt, Assyria, Greece, Rome, China and more. It reflects Sebastian Adams' 1871 view of history, not a modern scholarly timeline.
Is it for homeschooling or adult readers?
Both. Families can start from familiar names and events and follow the streams outward, while adults can dig into the detail on their own. The small print and Victorian wording mean younger children will get the most out of it with a grown-up alongside.
Can I see the artwork up close before buying?
Yes. Zoom into the product photos to see the original 1871 lettering, illustrations and colored streams in detail.
What's included with my purchase?
One hardcover fold-out chart: twenty-one panels, about 23 feet long when fully opened.

Saw this at a homeschool convention and had to order one immediately. You can follow the line of kings prophets and empires all at once. I'm amazed at how much history fits into this format. Some historical dates reflect 19th-century scholarship.
The detail in this chart is simply astonishing. The vintage aesthetic gives it a timeless feel that modern infographics can't match. It's beautiful educational and built to last.

A pastor friend recommended this and I'm so grateful. Perfect for anyone who wants to see the big picture of human history. Every church should have one of these.
My jaw dropped when I opened the box. The size is perfect — big enough to read comfortably but stores like a regular book. This is the kind of thing you keep forever.
The detail in this chart is simply astonishing. You can see at a glance what was happening in Egypt while Israel was in the wilderness. Will definitely be ordering another as a gift.
